Exporting to a Palm OS Handheld

A friend recently bought a Palm OS handheld with a color screen so she could show off digital photos of her grandchildren. Now, she can also store movies by exporting them in QuickTime format and running them through Kinoma Producer (www.kinoma.com).

To export movies to a Palm OS handheld:

1.	Make sure you've installed Kinoma Producer and Kinoma Player on the handheld.
2.	In iMovie, export your movie using the QuickTime options. Kinoma recommends using the highest resolution possible, so start with iMovie's Full Quality export option.
3.	Launch Kinoma Producer and choose your handheld model from the Brand and Model popup menus (Figure 16.15). Figure 16.15. In Kinoma Producer, choose your handheld's brand and model to begin.
4.	Drag your exported QuickTime movie to the Files area in Kinoma Producer, or click the Add Files button and locate the movie (Figure 16.16). Figure 16.16. Add QuickTime movies you exported from iMovie to Kinoma's Files pane.
5.	Click the Convert Files button.
6.	After the conversion is finished, copy the new file to your handheld. Depending on the size of the movie file, you'll probably need to store it on a memory card instead of the handheld's built-in memory; I use a USB card reader to quickly transfer the file to the memory card. Be sure to copy it to PALM > PROGRAMS > KINOMA folder.
7.	Launch Kinoma Player and play the movie on your handheld (Figure 16.17). Figure 16.17. Play back the movie on the handheld using Kinoma Player, and impress your friends with your tech savvy.
