Chapter 9. Editing Still Pictures

After purchasing a camcorder, I didn't immediately throw away my trusty digital still camera. In fact, on a day-to-day basis, I find myself taking more photos than shooting video footage, purely because my still camera (a tiny Canon PowerShot 200) is easier to carry around.

iMovie makes it easy to incorporate those stills into your movie projects, whether you're creating a slideshow, adding a series of pictures to accentuate video footage, or creating graphics or Photoshop-enhanced title screens. With iMovie 3, it's a snap to add any image from your iPhoto library.

This chapter also includes information about the new and highly touted Ken Burns Effect, a pan-and-zoom operation that adds motion to otherwise static images.
