Troubleshooting the Server Backup

If you believe that your backup was not successful, you can review the Windows 2000 Event Log.

You should also review the following conditions that could have occurred:
Inadequate disk space for backup image
Insufficient permissions on backup folder (directory)
Backup process already in progress
Required services are not running
IISAdmin
MSSearch
Msdmserv
MSExchangeIS
If you cannot resolve your issue with the backup process, contact your Microsoft Support resource.

Web Storage System versions are different between the backup image and target restore server
The Windows Backup Utility was used for backup
Restore server is in a different domain than source server, and domain groups and users that were once role members are not present
Users or groups were deleted and re-created
Users and groups that were used as role members were local accounts on the server, and the target restore server is different from the backup image source server
