| SharePoint Portal Server allows you and content owners the ability to designate documents that are particularly relevant to a category as Category Best Bets. Documents assigned as Category Best Bets are visually promoted in the category listings within your dashboard site.  To read more about Best Bets, see "Searching Based on Best Bets," p. 23. To enable Category Best Bets you must do the following: -
Go to the base document profile. -
the Category Best Bets property to this base document profile. -
Click OK. When the dashboard site displays a category, it will check this Category Best Bets property to determine whether to note the document as a Best Bet. Figure 12.15. View of Adding Category Best Bets to the base document profile.  To configure Category Best Bets on a particular document, the following actions must occur: -
Using Windows Explorer, navigate to the document you wish to work with. -
Right-click the document and select Properties -
Go to the Search and Categories property page of the document. -
Note that the document currently belongs to a number of categories (look underneath the heading "This document belongs to the following categories:"). -
Note further that below this is a section for enabling Best Bets. Here, you may click on the various categories to either enable them (with a check mark) or disable them (no check mark) as a category Best Bet. -
When finished selecting the Best Bets, click OK. Shortcuts to content outside of the workspace can also be selected as Category Best Bets. The proper use of Category Best Bets can help bring an appropriate amount of attention to information and content that a user should review when using a particular category, regardless of whether the document resides in the local workspace. |
