The speed at which bits of data flow through a specific area or connection. The bit rate measures the number of bits over time (bits per second).
BitTorrent
A peer-to-peer file distribution program. Files are broken into smaller chunks, distributed in fragments, and then reassembled on the requesting machine. If a piece is missing, each peer takes advantage of the best connection to find the missing pieces. BitTorrent is an effective tool for sharing large amounts of data, such as videos and large audio files. See also peer-to-peer.
blog
A term formed by the combination of the words Web and log. A blog is a Web-based page where content is added periodically. The content of a blog can range from diary entries to news items to podcasts.
blogging
The act of contributing to or running a Web log (blog). Depending on the form of the blog, there can be various incarnations of the name, including video blogging, audio blogging, and photo blogging.
