Chapter 9. Organizing Your Note Pages

In This Chapter

  • Create folders to store OneNote information

  • Create sections within folders

  • Create page groups within sections

  • Move text within folders, sections, and pages

You can use a wide variety of programs to take notes. Microsoft Word has a number of features that allow you to take highly formatted notes. Even a program as basic as Notepad can help you keep electronic notes. Since those programs aren't designed primarily as note-taking programs, however, they lack some of the key organizational features that make OneNote so well suited for note taking.

OneNote has a variety of features that allow you to organize any number of pages of notes. Chapter 3, "Using OneNote's Structure to Organize Your Notes," covered creating page groups for multiple related pages, using sections to group all notes on a particular subject or topic, and creating folders to further segregate notes. This chapter covers all of the ways you can work with note pages, sections, and folders.
