In this chapter you learned about Flash Remoting, and how by including the NetServices as a class in your Flash movie's ActionScript, you can transfer variable data between Flash movies and ColdFusion templates. You learned about structures and arrays, two complex variable types that are used by Flash Remoting to package data. To illustrate these concepts, you constructed a scalable ecard application that benefits from the sophistication of a Flash MX interface, but which relies on ColdFusion MX to handle the more programming-oriented tasks, such as retrieving information from a database and automatically sending e-mail.
