Dynamic HTML (DHTML) is a combination of HTML with a scripting language that enables you to change style or positioning properties of HTML elements. In this chapter, you learn about layers and explore many of Dreamweaver's built-in behaviors (and several extensions) that enable you to create some snazzy DHTML elements, such as drop-down and pop-up animated elements. You'll work through the exercises to create a draggable jigsaw puzzle, an image slideshow, several navigation menus, and even a scrollable "viewport" made with layers. All the elements in the exercise are cross-platform and work in most modern browsers, even Netscape 4x.
