Keyboard Shortcuts

 < Day Day Up >

Flash MX ships with keyboard shortcuts that were designed for it. But you can also choose to use a set of shortcuts for applications, such as Fireworks, Photoshop, and others. Or you make your own custom set. To customize your own shortcuts, follow these steps:

  1. Choose Edit ® Keyboard Shortcuts.

  2. You can use the current set or choose one from the Current Set drop-down menu.

  3. Click the Duplicate set icon (first one to the right of the Current Set field), enter a new name, and click OK. By making a duplicate you prevent overwriting the original shortcut file.

  4. Choose one of the categories listed in the Command area. Click the plus sign (+) to expand the category to its associated commands. Choose the command you want to add or change.

  5. In the Shortcuts area click the minus sign to remove (it will be grayed out unless there is a command already associated with it) or click the plus sign to add a new shortcut.

  6. When adding a new shortcut or changing a current one, the Press Key field is active. Enter the key combination you want to use for the shortcut by pressing the keys on your keyboard. Press the Control (Command) key and a letter or number. If it's already used or if you press an invalid selection, you see a warning message.

  7. Click the Change button, and then click OK.
