In many respects, this chapter is the toughest because it covers all the new components of FreeHand MX. But you learned all about the new, all-important Object panel and how you can apply multiple effects to objects and that the effects are both vector and bitmap. You learned that the Pen tool has changed, and the Blend function has been modified. The Extrude tool was explained, and so were the workings of the Polygon tool and the way the Subselect tool interacts with simple shapes to create rounded or indented corners. You found out that you can import an SWF file, modify it in Flash, and re-export it as part of a new SWF file. Most of all you learned that once you start working in FreeHand MX, you won't want to go to any other drawing program.
