2.2 Staffing IT remains a challenge in most organizations

 < Day Day Up >

Survey respondents were asked if they felt that their organizations' IT network management and telecommunications departments were adequately and appropriately staffed. While 41 percent felt they have been adequately and appropriately staffed, 53 percent felt that they have not achieved an adequate level of staffing or an appropriate mix of staff to meet current needs. The remaining respondents did not know if they were adequately and appropriately staffed.

Survey respondents were asked how their organizations determine how many staff are need for IT network management and telecommunications. Table 2.2 shows how staffing levels are determined, and Table 2.3 shows how salary levels are determined in the surveyed organizations.
