We shall analyze the strategic network to which Intec-Air, a firm in Cadiz (southern Spain), belongs. This firm, trading since 1988, belongs to the aeronautical sector, manufacturing various parts of the fuselage of planes and helicopters, both commercial and military. Its principal market is in Europe. At present, the firm works for the main aeronautical manufacturers in the world (Airbus, Boeing, and EADS, among others). The sector chosen is appropriate, because its manufacturing and marketing processes involve a very large number of firms. Moreover, the technical complexity of aircraft assembly means that the firms interact intensely among themselves, a situation that favors the creation of strategic networks and the use of IT.
