WHAT ARE PIXEL FONTS?

Pixel fonts are letterforms that are constructed from the smallest building block of any display: the pixel. One of the major hindrances to the progress of screen fonts has been the slavish dedication of most traditional type designers in trying to approximate the look of print fonts. It is my belief that you must be true to your media. In the case of screen fonts, it is clear that the letterforms should consist of the screen's unit of measure, which is the pixel.

Because Flash was not originally designed for creating applications for devices, it lacks the innate ability to incorporate pixel fonts. Fortunately, I have developed a way to create bitmap fonts that work gracefully in Flash.
