If you are one of those people who love to create your own components and then distribute them to friends or co-workers, Flash MX 2004 makes this a really easy process.

Right-click on your component in your Library and choose Export SWC File. Give your file a name and then place the file in your Configuration\Components folder. For the exact location of this folder for your operating system, look at the "Common Libraries" tip earlier in this chapter. Now moving on... Look to the panel menu at the top right and choose Reload. You'll see your own component listed in the Components panel (CTRL-F7), alongside all those cool built-in components you've been looking at all this time.
