Chapter 8. Use What You Got: Tips for Built-In Components and Existing Elements

graphics/a.jpgWhile I was growing, up my mother always told me two things. Number one, "Don't ever take candy from strangers unless there's money involved." Number two, "Use what the good lord gave you, and if that doesn't work, find someone who has more and take it from them." This is key to understanding the things that Macromedia has provided for you in the Flash authoring tool. There are tricks to using panels more effectively, and secret (seemingly hidden or rarely used) commands throughout the program. My intention in the following pages is to help you to use what is provided for you by making sure you're aware of it and how best to use it. Beyond that, I'll also do my momma proud by teaching you how to take what you're not given so that you'll never go without. Hey, wait, you'll be taking from me. That's okay, I'll get you in the end. I always do. Thanks, mom.
