Searching for Specific Help

When you know specifically what kind of help you're looking for, you can bypass scrolling through alphabetical lists by entering a search phrase and letting Notes pull up the information.

  1. Click on Help. The Help drop-down menu will appear.

  2. Click on Help Topics. The Help dialog box will open.

  3. Click on Search. The Help Search dialog box will open.

    Note

If the Help system has not been indexed and you are using Notes on your local hard drive (as opposed to a network server), Notes will prompt you to create the index before you search for help the first time. Creating an index helps Notes locate the text you need when you enter search topics.

  4. Click in the Search text box and type the word or phrase you want to locate.

  5. Click on the Search button. The information you seek will be displayed in the right panel of the Help dialog box.
