Using the robust object model available found in ADSI's IIS service provider, you can manipulate every aspect of Web site configuration. Using ADSI and Visual Basic, you can easily manipulate the configuration of each of the following commonly used property sheets in the IIS 4.0 Internet Service Manager:
The Web Site property sheet
The Web Operators property sheet
The Web Performance property sheet
The Home Directory property sheet
The Documents property sheet
The Directory Security property sheet
The HTTP Headers property sheet
Although ADSI does expose the ability to manage custom errors and ISAPI filters, the relatively small demand and significant coding complexity of these procedures does not lend well to programmatic administration. Consult the ADSI SDK, IIS Web Administration ASP code, and IIS product documentation to manipulate these properties.
Whether you simply need to configure a new site with some default property assignments or need to establish a complex site configuration, all this can be easily performed using ADSI.
