To gain the best use of this book, you will require the following:
A Windows NT or Windows 2000 client
A namespace in which you can safely test your code
If you want to develop COM objects in Visual Basic, you will also require the use of Visual Basic 5.0 (Professional or Enterprise editions) or higher.
Note
If you do not have access to Visual Basic, you can use the VBScript segments in Appendix A, "VBScript Code Reference," together with IIS (a free download from Microsoft) and an ASCII text editor to break into programmatic administration.
Additionally, if you have any of the Microsoft Office suite installed, you may also be able to use Excel or Access to work with these segments in the included Visual Basic for Applications environment .
