Summary

 < Day Day Up >

In this chapter, we examined system administration from the shell. Several important concepts about the Linux operating system, such as the structure of the filesystem, important directories, and the init command also were explored. In addition to the shell commands mentioned in this chapter, the commands mentioned in previous chapters can be useful to the system administrator. In essence, any system administrator will need to be at least somewhat familiar with shell commands.
