This chapter focused on how to embed SVG documents in HTML pages, manipulate the DOM of an SVG document, and associate mouse-related events with SVG elements. The examples in this chapter showed you how to do the following:
launch SVG documents from an HTML page
URL-enable an ellipse
define 'mouse-aware' rectangles
access and modify SVG elements
define ECMAScript functions for modifying circles
You also saw how to create simple animation effects triggered by mouse events that produce color gradient effects. The code samples for this chapter that are on the CD-ROM provide additional examples of writing ECMAScript functions that manipulate SVG elements embedded in SVG documents.
