Pre-Lab Tasks

  • Build the lab topology as per Figure 4-1 through Figure 4-6.

  • Configure your chosen Frame Relay switch router to provide the necessary DLCIs as per Figure 4-2 and from the Frame Relay switch sample configuration file found on the CD-ROM.

  • Load the initial configuration files for this lab. The files will contain the basic IP addressing as referred to in Figure 4-6; hostnames have been configured and the line console and line vty pre-configured with the password cisco.

  • Get into a comfortable and quiet environment where you can focus for the next eight hours.

  • Start your lab in the morning and work straight through the eight-hour timeframe. Do not panic or give up if you feel you will not be able to complete the whole exercise. If it happens, use the remaining time as a "practice" to focus on the parts where you got into difficulty.

  • Have available a Cisco Documentation CD-ROM or access online the latest documentation from the following URL: http://www.cisco.com/univercd/home/home.htm.

    NOTE

Consider accessing only the preceding URL, not the whole Cisco.com website. If you will be allowed to use documentation during your CCIE lab exam, it will be restricted.

  • Go for a walk to relax before you get started.
