If information is coming to the screen too fast for you to read, freeze the display by pressing HOLD SCREEN (usually F1 on PC-style keyboards) or CTRL/S. To resume the display, press HOLD SCREEN again, or CTRL/Q. While the screen is frozen, the program will continue to execute and generate output, which will be stored in a buffer of limited size, typically a few screens. When the buffer is full, the program will be suspended until you resume the display.
