Chapter 36. Upgrade-Related Security Issues

When upgrades to MySQL are released, new distributions sometimes include security enhancements. In some cases, these are simply bug fixes and you need do nothing for them to take effect. In other cases, a security-related change is provided as optional behavior and you can choose whether to enable it.
