Section 18.3. Aligning the Layout

18.3. Aligning the Layout

Now that you've inserted the form fields and labels, you can tinker with the alignment of the various cells:

  • To align the label against the right side of its cell, click anywhere inside the label's cell, and choose Right from the Horz menu on the Property Inspector.

  • To center the buttons in their merged cell, click anywhere inside the button's cell, and choose Center from the Horz menu on the Property Inspector. To push them all the way to the right, choose Right.

  • In single-line rows, align the label and its field vertically on the field's baseline. Click anywhere inside the row, choose <tr> from the Tag Selector, and choose Baseline from the Vert menu on the Property Inspector.

  • In multi-line rows, align the label at the top of its cell. Click anywhere inside the cell with the label and choose Top from the Vert menu on the Property Inspector.

  • To center the entire form table on the screen, click anywhere inside the table, click <table> in the Tag Selector, and choose Center from the Align menu on the Property Inspector. If you do this, you should also balance the widths of the columns. Select the entire left column, and type 50% in the W field of the Property Inspector. Do the same for the right column.

Making these adjustments gives you a layout like the one in Figure 18-34.
