Appendix A: Menu to Ribbon Command Reference


Overview

This appendix lists the menu commands and major toolbar buttons from Microsoft Excel 2003 and shows you where to find the equivalent functionality in Microsoft Office Excel 2007. In most cases, Microsoft has relocated commands on the new Ribbon structure. In other cases, Excel 2007 has new and better features that replace old functionality using new nomenclature and renamed or repositioned commands. Also, Microsoft has removed a few Excel 2003 commands from Excel 2007. We've organized this appendix to reflect the Excel 2003 menu structure.

This appendix includes commands from all the menus but includes only the Standard and Formatting toolbars, which are usually displayed in Excel 2003. For information about the location of buttons on any of the 19 other toolbars, click the Help button, and type Excel 2003 commands in the Search box. Click the Reference topic where you can download a workbook containing lists of all the menu commands and toolbar buttons in Excel 2003 with their 2007 counterparts.
