About the Author

Anand Deveriya, CCIE No. 10401, graduated from the University of Bombay, where he earned his bachelor's degree in electronics engineering. During the dot-com boom, he worked in the heart of Silicon Valley, where he deployed secure, scalable, and redundant networks using Cisco technology and products. Highlights of his accomplishments include the design and deployment of BGP-based redundant network backbones for networks spanning multiple collocation data centers design and configuration of network backbones for e-commerce setup using firewalls and load balancers. Later, he worked as a network communications manager, solving network administration issues at various levels. In his role as a network communications manager, he designed and deployed IPsec-based VPN solutions to replace the existing frame relay based WAN. Currently, he works for NEC Unified Solutions as a senior network engineer with a focus on network security. He has also served as technical editor for the Cisco Press book CCIE Security Exam Certification Guide. Anand lives with his wife and children in San Ramon, California.
