Before a library can be seen in the browser, a reference to it must be created. To do this, you need to open the References dialog box by selecting Tools | References. The dialog box that opens looks something like Figure 7-10.

Here you select the libraries you need to use in your project off of an alphabetical list. In some cases, you will see multiple versions of a library. By selecting multiple versions of the same library, you could sometimes create conflicts. The VBA Editor will usually alert you of potential conflicts.

Once the libraries are selected and you click OK, the selected libraries are moved to the top of the list the next time you open the References box. This makes seeing what you have selected a lot easier.

For the remainder of this book, we will reference the libraries shown in Figure 7-10. If your version of Microsoft Access has earlier versions of these libraries (we are showing examples using Microsoft Access 2003), select them. Since we are working at a beginner level, there should not be a conflict.
