Summary

In this chapter, we had a look at getting some of your data on the Internet. Although Access’s Data Access Pages feature does not have some of the niceties of full dynamic languages (such as ASP or ASP.NET), it can get you up and running quickly. As you saw, we were able to set up the pages quickly and edit the data within a web browser. You were even able to quickly and easily write XML to facilitate the placement and formatting of data on the web page.

Once you have your database on the Web, you may find the demands on your database growing. As this demand grows, you may find Access running less efficiently. For that reason, we will now turn our attention to using the built-in upsizing tools to migrate your database from Microsoft Access to the more robust Microsoft SQL Server.
