It's sad to see an older or abused photo that is scratched or dusty. Although editing these photos won't make them look as good as new, removing the dust or taking out scratches can go a long way towards making them look much better.
Select Photo from Open Files Window
From within PhotoSuite, choose the photo from the Open Files window at the bottom of the screen on which to remove dust or scratches.
Select Dust Tool
To remove dust from a photo, click on the All tab in the tasks pane to open all of your edit options. Select the Dust icon from the Fix menu to bring up the Dust window.
Use Slider to Fix Dust Or...
From the Dust window, use the slider to adjust the amount of dust that is removed from the photo. When you are done, click Apply and close the window.
Note
The more dust you remove from your picture, the blurrier the picture will be.
...Select Scratches Tool
To fix a scratch on a photo, zoom into the damaged area using the Zoom icons in the taskbar. Click on the All tab in the tasks pane to open all of your edit options. Select the Scratches icon from the Fix menu to bring up the Scratches window.
Select Brush Size
From the Scratches window, use the slider to adjust the size of the brush to match the scratch.
Fix Scratch
After you have set the brush size, brush over the scratch until it disappears. When you are finished fixing the scratch, close the window.
Tip
