The DivX-to-DVD utility is an extremely fast and easy way to create a DVD from DivX files you have stored on your computer. You must have captured your files in the DivX format to use this utility.

If you use this utility, you are not able to create a custom menu. You are given a few options for your menu and you can use a predefined style, but if you would like to create an elaborate customized menu for your DVD, follow the preceding tasks Add Movies to a DVD Project through Burn DVD to Disc to do so.

Burn DivX to DVD

Open Disc Copier

In the Easy Media Creator project pane, select the DVD & Video menu. When the DVD & Video menu is displayed, select DivX-to-DVD. A disclaimer comes up telling you that it is illegal to copy copyrighted material. Click OK. This launches Disc Copier.

Select Video Compilation

After Disc Copier has launched, click the Video Compilation tab to add DivX files to the project.

Set Disc Size

After you have selected the Video Compilation tab, set the disc size in the Disc Size drop-down list so you can keep track of the amount of free space as you add movies to the disc. Set the disc size by selecting the type of recordable media you are using.

Add DivX Movies

Add your DivX movies by clicking on the Add Movies button and browsing through Media Selector for the files you would like to add. You can add more than one file at a time by holding down the Control key while you select them.

Order Movies

When your movies have been imported into the Disc Copier window, you can sort them by selecting them one at a time and clicking on the up or down arrows in the taskbar.

Trim Movies

You can also preview and trim your movies by clicking on the Preview/Trim Movie icon in the taskbar. This brings up the Preview/Trim Movie windows.

Use the Preview/Trim Movie windows to set a new start and end point for the movie. Only the portion of the movie between the start and end point is added to the DVD. To set the start point, use the play controls or jog dial to adjust the movie to the point where you want the movie to begin, and then click the Set Start button. To set the end point, use the play controls or jog dial to adjust the movie to the point where you want the movie to end, and then click the Set End button. When you have finished, click the OK button to return to the project.

Set Options

After you have set the start and end points for the movie, set the project options by clicking on the Options button to bring up the Options dialog box. Select the options that you would like to include on your DVD. The options include using multiple discs, creating a main menu, auto-playing the first movie, and playing all movies in sequence.

You can also set the option to always convert the files to the preferred video format. This option is checked by default and you shouldn't change it unless you have a specific reason. Click OK.

Burn DVD

After you have finished setting the project options, click the Burn button to bring up the Burn Setup window. The Burn Setup window allows you to specify which drive to use when burning the data project to disc, as well as the write speed, number of copies, and several advanced features.

Select the destination drive from the drive list and then set any options you would like in the Burn Options area. When the options are all set correctly, click the OK button to burn the disc.
