Set the DVD Menu Background or Add a Motion Background

You can add background music to any or all of your DVD menus to add yet more personal flavor to the menu. In fact, the background audio doesn't have to be musicit can be any audio file.

If you have added a preset menu style to your DVD menu, it came with its own music. Preview it by clicking on the Animate Preview icon in the Preview window. The music you add to the menu replaces this default music. Even if you don't plan on adding your own music, be sure to preview the default audio. If you'd prefer to have no music instead of the music that accompanies the menu style, open the DVD Menu drop-down menu and select Remove Menu Audio.

Add Music to a DVD Title Menu

Select Menu

To add background music to a menu, select a menu or submenu in the Project View area.

Click Change Menu Audio

After you have selected a menu or submenu, click Change Menu Audio to bring up Media Selector.

Select Audio File

Use Media Selector to find an audio file to use for background music that plays while the menu is active. The audio file plays over and over as long as the menu is up. Whether you choose the same audio file or a different one to play behind your submenus, any time your viewers jump to a submenu, the chosen track for that submenu starts at the beginning.

Tip

You might want to create a specific audio file for the background that is just a short sequence of the beginning of a full audio file. This reduces the amount of disc space needed for the menus.
