Even though Project automatically updates costs as tasks progress, there are times when you might want to update your costs manually, such as when the project is done and you want to enter the actual costs of tasks. Be cautious about updating costs. Once you turn the automatic updating option off, you can't turn it back on again. If you do, all the actual cost values you enter will be removed.
Tip: To update actual costs on a daily basis, select Format
First, turn off the automatic updating option.
