Research software packages that could be used for pairing. We've been using NetMeeting, but it's a bit slow, and the audio slows it even more.
Set a time to meet via an instant message chat each day.
Have the team member whose task ownership load has been lighter take on tasks she's not knowledgeable about, and let the other team member coach her, so she gets more expertise. This will slow the team down in the short run but speed it up in the long run.
Be more diligent in setting and keeping appointments for remote pairing.
