PGA AND SPGA

Socket technology typically uses a ZIF socket on the motherboard that awaits a processor with many tiny pins extending from the bottom side of the square processor. The configuration of these pins is called a PGA package. A second design of the PGA standard is SPGA, in which the tiny pins underneath the processor are staggered, thereby allowing the processor to be smaller.
