I self-published Balance of the Planet in April of 1990. You will recall that Saddam Hussein invaded Kuwait in July of 1990. In August of 1990, I received an unusual warranty card from a customer: The return address was in Kuwait, but it had been scratched out and a new return address in Virginia had been substituted. Obviously, when you're clearing out of town just ahead of the Iraqi army, you want to make sure to bring the most important stuff like your Balance of the Planet warranty card.
