Introduction

Chapter 1 introduced you to the requirements for installing Windows XP Professional and led you through a manual installation of the operating system. This procedure is fine when you have only a few computers that need to be installed. But what would you do if you had several hundred (or thousand!) computers on which you needed to install Windows XP? This chapter introduces you to Remote Installation Services (RIS) and the System Preparation Tool (Sysprep.exe, or Sysprep for short).
