NATURAL EXPRESSION OPERATION CODES

Several operations listed in Table 5.8 support the alternate calculation specification. This specification includes an extended factor 2 that begins where the normal factor 2 begins (column 36), but continues through column 80.

The extended factor 2 is used to specify a natural expression. Natural expressions can be specified anywhere within the extended factor 2, and can be continued onto subsequent alternate calculation source statements. Continuing a line is achieved by starting a new calculation specification, and by leaving all positions through the operation code (columns 7 through 35) blank. Table 5.11 lists the operations codes that support natural expressions.
