In Chapter 7, you entered tasks, and here in Chapter 8 you linked tasks to create a project schedule. If you do not plan to assign resources to tasks, your project plan may be near completion—but if you want to make use of Project’s powerful resource scheduling tools, you’ll want to spend time reading the next three chapters. In Chapter 9, you’ll learn how to enter resources into Project and create budgets. In Chapter 10, you’ll see how Project’s scheduling engine works. And Chapter 11 will teach you about identifying over- and underallocations, and about how to level resources. These three chapters together take you into the real meat of Microsoft Project, and give you the tools you need to manage project resources effectively.
