It’s hard to believe, but there might be times when Microsoft Project just doesn’t do everything you need. For example, you may need to track information for which Project doesn’t have a field, organize data in a manner inconsistent with Project’s normal outlining feature, or view or enter information in a way that doesn’t match any of Project’s predefined forms. Fear not, Project user; Microsoft Project 2002 allows you to create custom fields, outline codes, and forms that let you handle any type of data within your particular projects. This chapter covers the following topics:
Understanding Project’s custom fields
Customizing fields
Using custom outline codes
Working with Project’s custom forms
Creating your own custom forms
