Troubleshooting

Front and Center: Does PowerPoint "Translate"?

Microsoft PowerPoint is one of the more popular products in the Microsoft Office System. The wizards and templates provided by this presentation product have helped put together millions of slideshows since the product was released. Most users will agree that it is one of the simplest products to use in the Office System and helps produce some of the most impressive results in the shortest amount of time.

In some ways, the jump for a PowerPoint presentation from the desktop (or laptop) to the Web makes a lot of sense. The ability to share your presentations with the world is obviously attractive to anyone who considers it, as the PowerPoint user's audience moves from the boardroom to the world.

The integration of Microsoft PowerPoint and FrontPage needs to be examined on two levels. The first level should examine the simple issue of inserting PowerPoint content directly into your FrontPage Web. The second level covers the creation of PowerPoint content for the Web and how to integrate it with FrontPage. Finally, we'll examine the use of PowerPoint content in a Web site in our Front and Center section at the end of this chapter.
