Microsoft Excel is one of Microsoft's flagship products. Excel is a spreadsheet application that allows for the complex (or simple) analyzation of numbers. Excel is often used by accountants and others who have a need to scrutinize numerical data, but its use is not limited to them. Homeowners might use Excel for entering their budgets and tracking other financial information. FrontPage can access data in an Excel spreadsheet in three ways:
In this chapter, we will review using the Database Results Wizard and Office Web Components to access Excel data. You will use the Excel spreadsheet Expenses.xls located in the CH40 folder on the CD accompanying this book. However, you can use a different spreadsheet if you choose.
For more information on accessing data with Windows SharePoint Services DataViews, see "Inserting a Data View," p. 739. |
