Troubleshooting

Layers Task Pane Is Disabled

graphics/troubleshooting_icon.jpg

I can pull up the Layers task pane, but I can't select anything on it because everything's disabled.

Layers rely on absolute positioning, a feature of the Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) 2.0 specification. If your authoring settings in FrontPage are configured so that CSS 2.0 is not enabled, you will not be able to access any of the settings on the Layers task pane.

To enable CSS 2.0 features in FrontPage, select Tools, Page Options and click the Authoring tab. Make sure that the CSS 1.0 (formatting) and CSS 2.0 (positioning) check boxes are checked.

Behaviors Don't Work

I configured the Behaviors for my menu, but they don't do anything.

When you insert a Behavior, the event defaults to onclick. If you are expecting the Behavior to work when you hover the mouse on a page element, but you forget to change the onclick event to onmouseover, the Behavior will not work.

Make sure that you always change the event if necessary.
