Setting the Preferences Categories

InDesign has nine different categories that let you customize how the program works.

To choose a preference category:

1.	Choose Edit > Preferences (Win) and then choose one of the preferences categories. This opens the Preferences dialog box . The Preferences dialog box set to the General category. or Choose InDesign > Preferences (Mac) and then choose one of the preferences categories.
2.	Click the categories on the left side of the dialog box to open a new category . (See the chart below for the settings for each category and its description.) The preferences categories in the Preferences dialog box.
