Moving Forward

Well that’s about it on laying out your windows and dialog boxes. People have written entire books on the topic, but I feel a better approach is to give you the general ideas, rather than fill a whole book with rule after rule. I do take up a bit more about windows in Chapter 5, “Highly Navigable Software,” which covers the navigation of software. But meanwhile, I take a detour in the following chapter, “Managing Your Software’s Time,” where I talk about such little issues as raising your user’s blood pressure to a dangerous level. Sound like fun? Not really, as I wouldn’t want to be on the receiving end of that support call. See you there.
