D.8 SNIA and Other Industry Associations

The SNIA has cooperative relations with other industry associations, including the Fibre Channel Industry Association, the InfiniBand Trade Association, and the University of New Hampshire iSCSI Consortium. The SNIA Interoperability Committee and FCIA have been jointly addressing the issue of mid- and upper-layer interoperability testing for the FCIA SANmark program. The FCIA's work has centered on physical-layer and transport-layer issues, whereas the SNIA has focused on application and management issues.

The SNIA Technical Center Committee and Interoperability Committee have met with the ITA to discuss InfiniBand testing, and the ITA has participated in the SNIA Interoperability Committee's Interop Lab at SNW conferences. In addition, the SNIA Interoperability Committee, SNIA IP Storage Forum members, and University of New Hampshire representatives have discussed using the SNIA Technology Center to hold IP storage plugfest events for interoperability testing.
