What site isn't better with a weather map? If you are setting up a site that will cater to people from all over the country or the world, you can easily tell them what the weather is like on a daily basis without having to enter that information every day. You can also bring in news feeds from all over to help you produce content for your site.
31. Add News Feeds and Weather Maps
1. | Insert a Weather Add-on Click on the Add-ons icon. In the Categories list, select Instant Info and select Yahoo! Weather from the Add-ons in the right pane. |
2. | Set the Options for the Weather Add-on In the Weather Setup dialog box, navigate to your location in the left column and pick your city on the right side of the dialog box. There are weather reports from all over the world. You can get weather from New Zealand to Angola. You can choose to show more than one location, as well. If you click on the Options button, you can set the color of the weather applet and the font color . You can also set the temperature to show as Fahrenheit or Celsius. |
3. | Insert a Headlines Add-on Click on the Add-ons icon. In the Categories list, select Headlines and select News and Politics from the Add-ons in the right pane. There are news feeds from all over the world from which to choose. |
4. | Select Your News Feed In the Y! News & Politics Headlines Properties dialog box, select the news feed you want to use, pick the number of stories you want to show, and set the colors to match your background. You will need to move the news applet and the weather applet to a part of your page that doesn't obscure your existing text. Just click on each applet and move it to where you want to have it on your page. |
5. | Preview Your Page Preview your page to see your weather and news headlines. |
