You create an eBay auction listing by filling out a series of step-by-step forms, as you'll see throughout the rest of this chapter. Before you do that, though, you must make sure you've done the following:
Register as a seller Until you register, you can't sell. For details, go to 124 About Selling on eBay .
Decide on your minimum bid and selling fees To learn how to set these prices, go to 127 Determine Your Selling Price and Estimate Your Selling Fees .
Assemble your art Pictures help sell, so you should use art in your auctions. Use a digital camera or scanner to create a digital image file you can upload to your listing. For more information, see 134 Add Pictures to Your Auction .
After you've done all that, you're ready to create your auction. You'll do it by filling out five pages of information about the item you want to sell. Not uncommonly, you'll have to move back and forth between those pages. For example, while you're in the Pictures & Details page, you might suddenly decide to rewrite your title and therefore want to go back to the Title & Description page. When you have to do that, use the Back and Continue buttons rather than your browser's Back and Forward buttons. If you use your browser's Back button to move back to a previous page, it will likely appear as if you've lost all the information you've filled in because the form will be blank. You haven't really lost the information, thoughclick the Refresh link at the top of each Sell Your Item form page to have your information automatically fill in.
