That doesn't mean you have to be a Michelangelo, or even be able to create your own pictures. But it does mean that you should have some basic skills in how to edit pictures so that they're as spiffy as possible when they're posted online. These pictures can range from a simple web button to an old black-and-white photo, or pictures from your child's recent birthday party. In this chapter, you'll learn how to accomplish the most common image-editing tasks using Paint Shop Pro (PSP), which has an extremely powerful suite of tools, yet is relatively inexpensive and not as difficult to use as programs such as Photoshop. So you'll learn tasks such as displaying image information, zooming in and out, scrolling, magnifying an area so that you can perform detail work, protecting your photos with a copyright stamp, resizing an image, and changing the number of colors you can work with. |
