TGAL is a simple text formatter. It is used to format printable documents. It produces a printable-format copy from an EDIT file. The format commands are entered directly into the text file.
Each TGAL command must be entered on its own line, separated from text lines.
Each TGAL command line must begin with a trigger character. The trigger character must be the first character on the line.
The default trigger character for TGAL is a backslash (\), but each user can change it to any character desired other than quotation marks or a blank.
RISK TGAL formats text files, which usually do not contain corporate sensitive data. Unless the system has sensitive data in EDIT files, the TGAL program poses no risks.
BP-FILE-TGAL-01 TGAL should be secured "UUNU".
BP-OPSYS-OWNER-02 TGAL should be owned by SUPER.SUPER.
BP-OPSYS-FILELOC-02 TGAL must reside in $SYSTEM.SYSTEM.
