B.6 CapeClear

Cape Clear is a niche developer tools company. It supplies an integrated developer environment that can run on multiple platforms. Figure B-3 depicts its product architecture. Cape Clear version 4.0 has three key components : Cape Clear 4 Studio, Cape Clear 4 Server, and Cape Clear 4 Manager.

Web Services Platform

• Cape Clear 4 Server ” runs on top of J2EE applications, supports SOAP 1.2, and generates WSDL. It is bundled with WSDL repository and UDDI registry. It can support both MQ/message-based Web Services and CORBA-based Web Services.

Developer Tools

• Cape Clear 4 Studio ” provides an integrated development environment and Web Services generation tools for developers. It has data transformation capabilities supporting both XML and non-XML (such as SWIFT and SAP).

• Cape Clear 4 Manager ” provides a security and management platform for deployment, configuration, service management, authentication, routing and protocol translation, performance diagnosis, clustering, and firewall proxy.
